Tritium Lights No bigger than the Size of a Hair

The world leader in the technology of Tritium illumination, H3 mb-microtec, the Swiss parent of Traser watches, has now emerged as a leading Swiss technology designer with ground breaking, innovative, highly functional designs. Because H3 mb-microtec is the world's only designer and manufacturer of tritium gas tubes, their watch division, Traser, gets the new technology first.

This new technology has been named Trigalight® HairLight Tritium because it is so incredibly thin. The outer glass tubes are about the thickness of five human hairs, and the actual inner glowing gas is only about the thickness of a single hair!

So far Traser has introduced two models that use the HairLight Tritium tubes and both are pictured at the top of the page. First is the Traser T5 Aurora Chronograph that uses the super thin Hairlight to illuminate the chronograph subdials.  A custom sapphire crystal provides perfect visibility of the detail possible with the new tubes.  There has never been a watch this stunning after dark!

The second watch to employ this technology is the Traser Aurora GMT Pilot's Watch. The P59 Aurora GMT is a true dual time zone, 24 hour timepiece with a fourth hand to easily indicate 24 hour time for any time zone you desire. The dial is crisp and easy to read in daylight and is great looking, too. Once again the key to this design is the super thin HairLight Tritium that allows illumination of not only the 24 hour hand, but also all 24 hour markers. There is Tritium Illumination on all 12 hour markers and on ALL HANDS.

The Luminox Recon, Point Man

Well, we are once again excited about a Luminox product. Surprising I know, but Luminox is just one of those products that once you try it, you have to have it. The Tritium illumination is the key, but the watches are also a nice quality and Swiss Made. Fortunately the company is also growing and that means we keep getting new styles. Below is one of the newest styles just released for 2011.

The Recon Series is the newest series available from Luminox and the first watch available is the 'Point Man'. This series is very different from most of the other Luminox watches available today. While the overall style and build are similar to the Colormark Series, the function and illumination are completely unique.

You see the 'Point Man' is a watch designed for the ground solider and out door adventurer. And it's built with features that are actually useful for those out and about. The first and most important unique feature is the Walking Tachometer. This feature is rarely found on any watch and allows you to judge exactly what speed you are walking. this is handy for real field situations where you need to determine how far something is, how far you have traveled and how long it will take to get where you are going. Combined with this feature is the sun-compass functionality and bezel for timing. The watch even has a countdown quadrant of the dial that can be used to time maneuvers. Very cool stuff.

Plus you also get a great looking watch once the sun goes down. Take a look at the night illumination (pictured below). Very stylish blue and orange tritium light the way and still allow the watch to be used for timing maneuvers at night. Not to mention that is also striking to the casual observer.

All in all, I am very excited about this watch. It is always nice to see someone do something different. For more information and to order online, please visit us at Time 4 Tritium.

Traser Elite Red

The all new TRASER P6600 Type 6 ELITE RED is the very first military grade watch to both offer the new RED TRITIUM and to meet and exceed the toughest military standards, MIL-SPEC-F. The P6600 is highly stable and shock resistant, with greatly improved water resistance. Traser watches are known throughout the world for their strength, durability and quality. But this new series is made to even a higher standard.

What makes the new P6600 RED ELITE so very different from all other military watches is the unique RED TRITIUM which is less bright than traditional green tritium. Although the wearer can read the time with precision accuracy in night ops, the watch cannot be spotted by others, protecting the wearing from being identified by the enemy.

Red Tritium has only recently been perfected by the engineers at Traser, H3 mb-microtec, the only manufacturer of Tritium Gas Tube illumination in the world. At this time only one watch has this very special feature. It is not available from any other manufacturer or on any other brand of watch.

On the ELITE RED, Red Tritium marks the hour, minute and second hands, as well as the hour positions. Blue Tritium marks only the 12 o'clock marker on the dial.

The Traser ELITE RED P6600 is also water resistant to 600 feet (200 meters) and has the improved K1 Hardened Mineral Glass Crystal for improved strength and scratch resistance.

Like it's nearly identical cousin, the Traser Mil-Spec-G, the new Traser P6600 ELITE RED has both a Day of the Week and a Date display.

New Steel Colormark by Luminox

Many of our readers fondly remember and often request the old original Luminox Navy Seals Carbon Fiber Watches. These were the original steel Luminox watches and they were "tough as nails," durable and reliable. And perhaps more importantly less expencive then the to of the line steel watches. They hit the sweet spot between tough and affordable. At long last Luminox has re-invented this series as the new Navy Seals Steel Colormark Watches. Once again the cases are all stainless steel and the bezels are carbon fiber resin. But the dial itself is larger and much easier to read and the styling follows the popular Colormark design.

What hasn't changed is the great night illumination of Luminox legendary self powered illumination system. Without having to push a button or expose the timepiece to a light source, the time is continuously visible for up to 25 years! Look at the new Blue and Yellow Tritium combination of this series of watches.

The Luminox Navy Seals Steel Colormark is still made to exceed all Navy Seals specifications for strength, durability, toughness and water resistance (down to a whopping 660 feet). That's why the United States Navy Seals chose Luminox. Luminox developed the very first Navy Seals series back in 1993 to the specifications provided by the US Navy Seals.

Fast forward to 2011 and Luminox is one of the most preferred watches worn by military, law enforcement and emergency personal world wide. Check out more pic's, specifications and ordering information by visiting one of our stores: Gem of the Day, TopFlight Watches or Time 4 Tritium.

Spread the Word - H3 Tactical is a Force in the Watch Industry

The addition of several fine Swiss brands of Tritium Watches has been a real benefit to the American consumer. While Luminox remains the leader in Tritium Illuminated Watches, a lot has changed in just the last three years! Today people looking for Tritium watches now have at least six brands and over 200 different models from which to chose.

Even more important, the addition of several Swiss manufacturers has led to increased competition and increased innovation. This, in turn has led to lower prices and new and exciting product.

We try to work with every watch company to bring our customers the very best new watches. And while every company has its strengths and weaknesses, no company is working harder to understand the American consumer or to build a better, more competitive product that H3 Tactical.

The management of H3 Tactical listens carefully to our every request and asks all the right questions about our customers. And then they quickly develop the products we need. Well, quickly isn't the best term to use when describing Swiss Watchmaking. Generally this means six to twelve months.

As great example is their development of a true ladies Tritium Sport Watch, the
Lady Commander. After Luminox decided to discontinue all Ladies watches, we asked every (and I do mean every) Swiss Tritium manufacturer to fill in the gap. Only H3 Tactical answered the challenge. Today the Lady Commander is a best seller.

No content to just develop "me too" product H3 Tactical has looked for areas where new and innovative watches are needed. One of the best examples in the Stealth Mission true 24 Hour Military Time Watch. This watch has twice the tritium of other watches and makes keeping track of military time easy, day or night. It's the watch I'm wearing in the picture at the top of this article. We also profiled this innovative watch earlier in this blog:
World's First Full Tritium 24 Hour Watch.

As the economy turns tough, it will take aggressive innovation, unyielding quality and great customer service to survive. We think H3 Tactical has what it takes.

Luminox Blackout's Have Arrived

Want to know what the hot watch item is this holiday season? Well, look no further. The Luminox Blackout series of watches is going to be THE watch to have. As you can see, the watches and hands and numerals are all black. The dial is a very dark gray (nearly black) and only the Tritium Gas Tubes provide a hint of the time during daylight hours.

At night, it's an entirely different story, as the Tritium Gas Tubes glow brightly for easy time visibility (Blue Tritium Illumination). The Blackout is a most unusual watch. The Luminox Blackout is handsome, rugged and mysterious

(6402-BO) (3051-BO)

The model 3051-BO is made from lightweight carbon reinforced polyurethane. It has a supple and durable Luminox Signature rubber dive strap. The watch is made to US Navy Seals Military Specifications and meets or exceeds all Navy Seals requirements.

The model 6402-BO is based on the Luminox EVO F-117 Nighthawk Pilots Watch, but BLACKED OUT to all all Black Design. The watch is made entirely from surgical grade stainless steel with a black PVD coating for all black appearance. It has a stainless steel bracelet. The watch is made to F-117 Nighthawk Military Specifications and meets or exceeds all U.S Armed Forces Military Specifications # W-4637 4F. Both of the new Luminox Blackout Watches are depth tested and certified for water tightness to 200 meters (or 660 feet) below sea level.

Traser Ladyline?

In the world of Tritium watches a true LADIES watch is rare indeed. Sure there are some 3/4 models out there that are generally much larger than most woman want to wear and even those are hard to find. In general, a ladies Tritium watch is non existent. Granted not every woman in the world is clamoring for a ladies Tritium watch but there is definitely a market for it. Especially for woman in the medical profession, military and law enforcement to name a few. (And we get calls from people looking for a good ladies Tritium watch every day.)

So you can understand how excited I was to hear that Traser, makers of nice quality Tritium watches, was making an entire line of Ladies watches! This was something the watch industry was in dire need of and Traser was poised to take full advantage.

Unfortunately, they really dropped the ball. At least in terms of "Ladies" watches. Don't get me wrong, the "Ladyline" by Traser has some Fantastic Models, Great Quality, New Attractive Designs and features you want. So you are asking yourself, If everything is so good, what's the problem? The problem is that the watches are too big. Full size actually! That's right, full size mens watches. In fact, many of them are the same watches they already make. They just simply "Repainted" them and stamped them with "Ladyline" on the label. Take a look at some of the side by side comparisons.

These are the EXACT same watches as the "men's" counterpart. Just with different color combinations/bands.

Literally no difference at all. Same watch, same size, same features. Seems like a copout to me. If you are going to make a ladies line of watches, then make some new watches. Not just repaint the men's watches.

Now to be fair they did develop some legitimately new models (one pictured below). These are great looking models! Some even using PINK Tritium, which is a fantastic touch. And with these being ALL NEW designs, surely they made them an appropriate size, right? Nope, sorry. These models are even BIGGER than the largest mens watch they make. Just how big? 44mm on average. (Most of the mens line is 40mm-42mm).

Of course, I realize that these are Swiss designed watches and as long as we are being objective, you need to have all the facts. Over in Europe ladies are wearing much larger watches then they are here in the USA. In fact, it is not unusual to see a ladies watch push the 50mm barrier... in Europe, but unfortunately we have not quite gotten there here in the USA. So what does this mean for ladies here in the USA looking for a Tritium watch? It looks like you're going to have to continue to wait. The Ladyline from Traser is not the answer to the average consumer here in the States.

So, in the mean time, What do we do with the "Ladyline"? Easy, sell them for what they are. New mens models. (and a few LARGE ladies models) Because aside from the Pink and Blue models, every one of these look quite sharp and could easily be worn by men.

So those looking for some new styles, you're in luck. Those looking for new "ladies" watches, you may need to pass on this one. I just don't think America is ready for these watches just yet.

The New Kid on the Block

Can you tell we like Tritium watches? Well, we do. And today, there is a new kid on the block. H3 Tactical has brought out an entry level model poised to steal the thunder from the competition. The ALL NEW Sniper Lightweight Special Ops Series.

You've seen similar watches from other companies, but the Sniper beats them all feature for feature. For example, this watch has the very lightweight carbon reinforced polyurethane case as do some others. But only the Sniper also has a full screw down crown for assured water resistance to 330 feet below sea level! And every Sniper model is equipped with an unusually hard and tough tempered crystal (900 Vickers instead of 500 Vickers). The watch also has a stainless steel screw down case back.

You get all of this plus Color Tritium Illumination Combinations (Pictured below), Professional Military Grade Watch and a Swiss Jeweled Quartz Watch Movement. All for LESS than the competition!!! These watches are currently selling for about $199.00 (Reg. $295.00). That is about $20-$40 less than the competition from some of the other companies out there.

Now, Yes, there are some other Tritium watches out there for less. Some of them are quite good. But "pound for pound" you are gonna be hard pressed to find a better watch at the same price.

Have you been looking at getting into Tritium Watch? Don't want to spend too much money? Checking out the entry level options trying to find the best watch for the Price? If the answer to any of those questions were YES, then you really need to take a look at the Sniper Lightweight Special Ops Series. It really is one of the best values currently available on the market today.

Traser Aviator Bestmann 25 Jewel Automatic Watch

The Traser Aviator Bestmann is one of the best watches available in the Traser Tritium Watch Line.

Traser starts off be using one of the finest ETA Swiss 25 Jewel Automatic movement. Then encases this movement within a beautifully crafted retro design stainless steel case. the case itself is wonderfully designed and finished out beautifully from top to bottom. In fact, every part of this watch was well thought out and wonderfully produced.

Next we move to the dial which pays homage to Bücker Aeroplanes, featuring a special logo on the left side of the dial. Then top it all off with a Genuine Sapphire Crystal top and bottom (Exhibition case back).

The Traser Aviator Bestmann rivals the finest prestige Swiss watches and, frankly, beats them all. That's because, of all the most honored Swiss Automatic Watches, only Traser offers the incredible WHITE TRITIUM Trigalight® illumination. H3 mb-microtec is the only manufacturer of White Tritium Gas Tubes in the world, and they are simply not available to any other manufacturer.

The entire Aviator Collection has been created by Traser in homage to the great Bücker Aeroplanes. Pioneers in aviation, Bücker aircraft were among the finest and most innovative ever built. Traser is honoring that tradition with this fine series of watches.

Caseback of the Traser Bestmann features the individual number of the watch in the series of 200.The Bücker Bestmann was the last Bücker aeroplane built. It was a single engine plane with an enclosed cabin and a single low wing design. It was one of the finest aerobatic planes of its day. Many consider the legendary Bü 181 Bestmann one of the finest aircraft ever built.

Traser is crafting each individually made Aviator Bestmann with that same attention of quality, innovation and design excellence. World wide production is limited to just 200 pieces and each Bestmann is numbered on the case back with its own number out of the 200 pieces. In addition the watch comes in a wooden collector's case that has the Bestmann Seal Certificate, bearing the same number out of the series of 200.

The watch is fitted with an exhibition back so the owner can view the workings of the fine ETA movement. And the watch is equipped with a compass style bezel which can rotate to assist in locating directions, sundial navigation and map reading. A cream colored retro designed dial bearing the Bücker logo completes the design of the watch.

Worlds 1st Full Tritium 24 Hour Watch!

Virtually every other watch on earth tells time in a conventional 12 hour dial and the hour hand revolves around the dial once every 12 hours. In this new H3 Tactical Stealth Mission Watch, the hour hand only travels around the dial once every 24 hours! For pilots traveling day and night across many time zones, this design is extremely desirable. At a glance the pilot knows the time in the military 24 hour format.

Military personnel all also use the 24 hour time format to insure there are never any mistakes about the time for precision military operations. Likewise, this format is indispensable for people working under extreme conditions where it might be impossible to tell day from night, underground construction workers or miners, for example.

While only a very few of these 24 hour dial watches even exist, none has ever been made before with full Tritium Illumination. All 24 hour makers are tritium powered, as are the hour, minute and second hands. This means an amazing 27 tritium tubes are used to illuminate the watch dial.

The H3 Tactical Stealth Mission Watch is made entirely of surgical stainless steel. The crystal is virtually scratch proof sapphire glass. The Swiss Made Jeweled Quartz Movement is extremely accurate and durable. And the Watch is depth tested to 333 feet (100 meters) below sea level. All in all this is a great series of watches. Available in three different styles: All Stainless Steel Case and Bracelet, All PVD Case and Bracelet and a PVD model with a Rubber Dive Strap. For more information, pictures and details head over to any of our other sites:

Colors Explode!

That's right! Colors are HOT right now when it comes to watches. Everything from New brightly colored dials to the ultimately popular Color Matched Tritium markers. Everywhere you look...colors are here! Take the new Colormark Series from Luminox for example. This new series is as hot as they come. They are selling so fast that Luminox can't even keep up. Why? Well, the success is two fold. First, they feature bold and defining color dials. Instead of a traditional color dial these watches utilize a rich black dial with Colored Numbers, Hands and Markers, making for a very bold series of watches. This in itself would probably be enough to generate a lot of interest, after all, the design is very striking, but fortunately, Luminox went a step further. In a brilliant stroke of genius, they decided to Color Match the Dial Color with the Tritium color. The result is brilliant color, day and night! Notice, Orange Dial during the day and Orange Tritium at night.

Even the Green Dial (Note: Green Tritium is the traditional color for most Tritium watches) gets a kick, infused with Blue accents. Take a look at the difference between the Original (Green) design of the Series 1 compared to the New Green Dial Colormark. Quite a difference!
Original_________________________Colormark
Check it out for yourself here - http://www.gemday.com/item0724.htm We show all of the Dial/Tritium Color combinations as well as in depth details of the watches and their features.
