Wenger GST Diver

There is no denying that the all new Wenger GST Diver has startling good looks. The all black design is stunning and the attention to detail is top notch. From the Black PVD Stainless Steel Case, to the polished Black patterned dial, to the rugged and heavy all black rubber dive strap, this is one great looking watch. It's the little things that make the difference in a watch like this. Like the multi-level patterned dial and just the right amount of orange accents to set it all off with a prefect balance of good looks and supreme readability.

But it's not just good looks that makes the Wenger GST Diver one of our most highly recommended professional quality dive watches. The watch is made to the toughest Swiss standards for all dive watches. The case is 316 Grade Surgical Stainless Steel. It has both a screw down case back and a screw down crown. The crystal is virtually scratchproof Sapphire glass and the watch is depth tested to 300 meters or 1,000 feet below seal level!

The high contrast white hands and markers make this one of the easiest to read watches we've ever offered, even deep below the surface. The unidirectional diver's bezel has orange markers for measuring air tank reserves and the watch features a date function with the window at the 6 o'clock position.

This watch really is stunning to look at. You really need to see it in person to understand what I am getting at with this blog entry. Sometimes a watch ends up being more than just the sum of its parts. This is one of those times. This is really a great watch at a very affordable price. If you get a chance I highly recommend you check one out in person.

Mondaine Chronograph with Night Vision

A bold yet sleek statement, the Mondaine Official Swiss Railways Watch Sport II has the classic Mondaine award winning design with the highest technology Swiss Chronograph (stopwatch) movement and Tritium Night View Illumination. It is the perfect combination of style and functionality.

The Sport II has a 42 millimeter brushed stainless steel case highlighted with a black PVD fixed bezel that is decorated with six polished stainless steel screws. It is available in two dial choices, either black or white with opposite color hands and the signature red stopwatch sweep second hand. The continuous sweep second subdial and the 30 minute elapse time subdial also have red hands.

As you can see, the hands and dial have tritium illumination for perfect night illumination. In addition the watch features a large double window date display that is easy to read at a glance, yet adds to the classic design motif.

The classic simple and straightforward design of Mondaine Watches is considered a work of great modern art. Mondaine Watches are collected by museums throughout the world. For example, Mondaine is the official watch of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

The simple design, the unmistakable easy-to-read face, distinctive hands and the famous red seconds hand have made the Mondaine collection successful the world over. In 1944, Hans Hilfiker, a Swiss Engineer and Designer and employee of the Federal Swiss Railways, created a clock, which has become known as the Official Swiss Railways Clock. It is amazing just how long this design has endured and now it appears to take a place in the eternal hall of fame along side other well known design icons such as the Coca-Cola bottle, the Mercedes star, the Toblerone packaging, or the design of the US dollar bill.
