Precision Redefined

The Watch Guys are proud to present the world's most accurate watch with a continuously sweeping second hand. Say hello to the Precisionist by Bulova. With a frequency of 262.144 kilohertz, Precisionist offers the highest vibrational frequency available in any watch today. This dramatic increase in frequency diminishes the effect of temperature fluctuations and produces extraordinary precision. Most quartz watches are accurate to 15 seconds a month. Bulova Precisionist is accurate to... 10 seconds... a year. The Precisionist is a quartz watch with a second hand that beats 16 times per second. As a result, the continuous motion of the Precisionist second hand is even more fluid than all mechanical watch second hands that beat only 8 to 10 times per second. This marks the most comprehensive and potentially revolutionary product launch from Bulova since the debut of Accutron 50 years ago. The Precisionist brings the watch industry a new sense of dynamism, an excitement that redefines the expected.

And more than that, it is also VERY nice looking. It is available in four variations that cover a variety of case metals and straps. The overall design is just superb. Everything from the multi-layer carbon-fiber dial to the case with hex head accents is in perfect harmony. I think my personal favorite is the Titanium model with the Ballistic Strap (pictured above) but all four models are really good looking.

And if that wasn't good enough, each watch is depth tested to 300 meters water resistance and feature screw-down crowns, screw-down case backs and are fully ready for any adventure. A watch that is at home in both the office and the extreme corners of the earth. This really is a huge advancement in watches and Bulova. Presicion and Accuracy have truly been redefined.

For more info and ordering information please visit Top Flight Watches. All four models are available with more pictures and detailed information.

The Watch Guys are pleased to present the new Luminox Series 1500 Deep Dive Automatic Watches. Our first look into some of the new watches coming out this Fall from some of our favorite brands. So let's get right to it...

The Deep Diver is limited to a strict 500 pieces worldwide, with very few even to be offered for sale within the United States. The Luminox Deep Diver Automatic is one of the finest watches Luminox has ever created and each watch is individually numbered.

The Deep Dive Series complies with the strict, high standards of the Norm International Standards Organization ISO 6425 for diving watches and even exceeds those standards for visibility in darkness. Of course that's not much of a surprise to those familiar with Luminox.

You see Luminox uses Tritium for the illumination and it is by far the most important feature on any of their watches. The Deep Diver Series 1500 delivers unmatched visibility underwater with ice blue and bright green Luminox Light Technology (LLT) Tritium Gas encased in tiny glass tubes that glow brightly and continuously for up to 25 years.

Notice in the photograph how the unique use of blue and green Tritium lights creates an unusually easy-to-read dial, even in dark, deep waters. and you do not need to "push a button" to read the time perfectly. In fact, this watch will glow brightly even if kept in total darkness 24 hours a day. Luminox actually guarantees the illumination for 10 full years!

Of course that is standard fair for Luminox. But what is unusual is the fact that this Luminox is powered by a mechanical Swiss Made Automatic ETA 2826-2 jeweled selfwinding movement. This movement withstands the rigors of extremely depth diving and requires no battery changes.

The Deep Diver is water resistant to 500 meters (1625 feet) and features an automatic helium release valve and a patented Bezel Locking System that also serves to protect the crown. The case is solid stainless steel. The special design of the Deep Diver Automatic contains custom gaskets, a screw-down crown and case back, an extra-thick sapphire crystal, and an integrated polyurethane rubber dive strap with wet suit polyurethane extension dive strap.

And to top it all off, each Deep Diver Automatic comes in a special water-resistant box which can be used to safely store a mobile phone, camera, or other personal valuables on the rough sea.

Officially available in 3 colors (White, Blue and Orange) it's an impressive watch and will be hard to get a hold of this holiday season. For more information, or to order one for yourself, head on over to Gem of the Day, Topflight Watches or Time4Tritium.

And stay tuned... More new watches are on the way.

Walking a Fine Line: Luminox Battle for Positioning

Over the next few days both Zak (The Watch Guy) and I will be introducing several new Luminox Watches that will be available in extremely limited quantities before Christmas this year. Although almost all of these watches were introduced at the International Watch Fair in Basil, Switzerland in the early Spring, only a select few are making their way onto our shores late this fall. The world wide recession and especially the recession here in the United States are part of the reason for this delay, but Luminox own quest for its position in the marketplace also plays a major roll.

Luminox, as a brand, is torn between their heritage in the United States as a hunting ~ military - law enforcement brand and their Swiss manufacturing heritage as one of the world's finest watches.

Luminox's primary distribution avenue in the U.S. is still hunting and sporting goods stores. These dealers are the folks who brought Luminox to the attention of customers. And it was these dealers who made the original Series I and Series II Navy Seals Dive Watches one of the best selling and most highly regarded watches among law enforcement, sporting enthusiast and military customers in the world. Popularly priced in the $200.00 range in the United States, these watches are tough, accurate, dependable AND AFFORDABLE!

But Luminox parent, Lumondi Corporation in Switzerland, KNOWS that the quality of Luminox rivals and exceeds their better known competitors like Tag Heuer and Breitling. They realize Luminox can make and sell watches in the $1,500.00 to $2,500.00 price points that will easily out perform their competitors.

Back here in the U.S., the large sporting goods network simply cannot even display, let alone sell, watches in these price points.

As I mentioned above, over the next few days, we will show you these higher end Luminox watches like the Series 1500 Deep Diver Automatic pictured on the right, along with some interesting new lower price models. If you want to own one of these luxury Swiss Watches at the upper end you need to RESERVE THEM TODAY. In most cases the U.S. markets will received only tiny quantities, with the major distribution going into Europe and Japan.

Feel free to call Zak or me (Bob) TOLL FREE 1 (888) 243-6329 (weekdays 8:30 am to 6:00 pm) to reserve a watch or to get additional information.

Luminox Blackout's are IN STOCK!!!

That's right! For a limited time we have the Luminox 3051-BO's in stock and ready to ship. This actually marks the first time since they were released, back in November 2009, that we have had any extra stock. This is Luminox's most popular watch they have ever produced and by far the hardest to get a hold of. Normally people have to wait at least two week and sometimes up to 30+ days. And most shipments are sold out before they ever arrive.

Fortunately, we are now able to supply customers immediately but you need to act quickly. We are estimating that we will once again be out of stock very soon. This is a limited time opportunity. Get your Luminox Blackout today!

There are currently in stock at all three of our stores: Gem of the Day, Time4Tritium and TopFlightWatches

Innovative Watches

Innovation is the watch industry happens in fits and spurts. Sometimes you will see a watch company get truly innovative and begin to push the barrier while others will go generations without actually changing anything substantial. Often the most innovative companies are the ones who are just starting out. People with truly fresh ideas and perspective. People eager to make a difference and wow the world with there idea. Sometimes it hits and sometimes it misses.

Today I want to talk about ONE such company. ONE that developed something truly innovative and is now enjoying great success. I am of course talking about 01 THE ONE. 01 THE ONE is a little company that had a brilliant idea for telling time that was unlike anything anyone had ever seen. Developed by a computer programmer, 01 THE ONE watches would use binary (the base code for all programming) for telling time.

Using LED's and a new format for time telling, 01 THE ONE watches were born. The result is a unique and good looking time piece with a great story. I defy you to wear ONE of there watches and not get a comment from passers by. It's a conversation piece and a great choice for anyone who doesn't want to go with the crowd.

Now reading the time does take a little getting used to but once you wear it for a while it becomes second nature. Personally the original (pictured above) is my favorite but they have developed two alternate versions (pictured below)

My only problem with the latter two is that they seem slightly less true to the original concept of binary time. Still, they are very cool and the most recent is much easier to tell time with. And at the end of the day, if you are looking for something different and innovative, you need to check out 01 THE ONE. This is ONE to keep your eye on.

Spread the Word - H3 Tactical is a Force in the Watch Industry

The addition of several fine Swiss brands of Tritium Watches has been a real benefit to the American consumer. While Luminox remains the leader in Tritium Illuminated Watches, a lot has changed in just the last three years! Today people looking for Tritium watches now have at least six brands and over 200 different models from which to chose.

Even more important, the addition of several Swiss manufacturers has led to increased competition and increased innovation. This, in turn has led to lower prices and new and exciting product.

We try to work with every watch company to bring our customers the very best new watches. And while every company has its strengths and weaknesses, no company is working harder to understand the American consumer or to build a better, more competitive product that H3 Tactical.

The management of H3 Tactical listens carefully to our every request and asks all the right questions about our customers. And then they quickly develop the products we need. Well, quickly isn't the best term to use when describing Swiss Watchmaking. Generally this means six to twelve months.

As great example is their development of a true ladies Tritium Sport Watch, the
Lady Commander. After Luminox decided to discontinue all Ladies watches, we asked every (and I do mean every) Swiss Tritium manufacturer to fill in the gap. Only H3 Tactical answered the challenge. Today the Lady Commander is a best seller.

No content to just develop "me too" product H3 Tactical has looked for areas where new and innovative watches are needed. One of the best examples in the Stealth Mission true 24 Hour Military Time Watch. This watch has twice the tritium of other watches and makes keeping track of military time easy, day or night. It's the watch I'm wearing in the picture at the top of this article. We also profiled this innovative watch earlier in this blog:
World's First Full Tritium 24 Hour Watch.

As the economy turns tough, it will take aggressive innovation, unyielding quality and great customer service to survive. We think H3 Tactical has what it takes.

Gemday Clearance - http://www.gemday.com/watches/clearance.shtml
TopFlight Clearance - http://www.topflightwatches.com/deals.cfm
Time4Tritium Clearance - http://www.time4tritium.com/deals.cfm

We are Authorized Dealers for EVERY Brand we sell.

Saving money, but at what cost?

Still looking for the best deals? Of course you are. We all are. The economy is still uncertain and people are still very aware of every penny they spend. Everyone is looking to get the best deals on each item they buy. Nothing wrong with that. It's just good business. Why pay more for the same item? There really is no good reason, as long as you buy from the right places. You see the Internet is a wonderful medium. It connects us with the entire world, which is wonderful, but it also has it's down side. You see, not everybody is good and honest.

Sure, for the most part you can easily spot the really bad guys but what about the guys that live in the gray area? When it come to watches and watch dealers, the internet has more "gray market" dealers than honest Authorized dealers. So what exactly is a "gray market" dealer and how does it effect you?

A "gray market" dealer is a company that sell the popular brands but does not buy directly from the manufacturer. They get their products from a 3rd party. This is troubling for a lot of reasons. First off, there is no way to guarantee the quality of the product. Because it comes from a 3rd party, there is no telling where it really came from. It could be a referb, used, repaired or even defective watch and because it did not come directly from the manufacturer you often get no warranty. And you really can't blame the manufacturer. I mean they don't know where that watch has been or the condition in which it was sold.

So even if the watch seems to be new and in good condition, you still have no warranty if something goes wrong (and usually nobody tells you that when you buy it). You just assumed you got a really good deal and only find out the bad news when you try to get service. It is not an ideal situation and worse, most customers don't know until it's too late. Well fortunately I am here to help. I can tell you how to find the good deals and buy from the right places.

(Look for authorized badges like these)

The first thing you need to do is identify the good guys. It's not too hard to do. Sometime it's as easy as looking for a "Dealer Badge" and sometimes you have to look a little deeper. The "Dealer Badge" is by far the best tool for finding the good guys. If you see a badge you are usually good to go and most of them are clickable. They will take you directly to the manufacturer's website, to a verification page, which will confirm the websites authorized dealer status. Unfortunately, not every watch manufacturer uses a badge system. So, if no badge is present (or available) the best thing is check out the dealer directly with the manufacturer. Give them a call or go to their website. Every manufacturer has a dealer listing and if you take a few minutes to check out who you are buying from, you can save yourself a lot of heartache down the road. It might be a bit of a hassle but it's worth it in the long run.

Once you find a good reputable dealer, you are good to go. Check out the Clearance page and go wild. Don't see what you want from the Clearence page? Then give them a call. Most every dealer is ready to make a deal. Give them a call and let them know exactly what you are looking for. Most of the time you will get good personal service, a competitive price and a full manufacturers warranty. It's Win, Win, Win. Buy with confidence knowing you got a good deal from an honest well established dealer.
